TBJ Goslap Slab Serif Font Family
We asked ourselves, "What if we could craft a slab serif font that’s bold yet adaptable, functional yet packed with character?" And that’s how TBJ Goslap was born—a font family designed to balance strength with refined aesthetics.
If you’ve worked with geometric sans serifs or robust typefaces, you’ll find TBJ Goslap a refreshing addition to your toolkit. While it shares a foundation of precision and versatility, TBJ Goslap is entirely its own creation.
Unlike traditional slab serifs characterized by rigid, rectangular serifs, TBJ Goslap introduces trapezoidal serifs—clean, modern, and subtly sophisticated. This design choice breaks away from the industrial feel of classic slabs, offering a contemporary edge that suits diverse design needs.
When developing TBJ Goslap, we aimed to avoid the overt historicism often associated with slab serifs. For instance, the Bold and Extra Bold weights were carefully refined to steer clear of the vintage “Wild West” aesthetic while maintaining the commanding presence needed for headlines. The result? A font that’s perfect for posters, sports branding, and packaging, without leaning too far into retro territory.
TBJ Goslap excels not only in its bold display styles but also in its optical versatility. With two optical sizes—Normal for text and Display for headlines—this typeface adapts effortlessly to different contexts. Whether you're creating impactful headlines or dense text arrays, TBJ Goslap delivers legibility and style in equal measure.
The font family includes:
9 Weights (from Thin to Bold)
Variable Fonts, offering seamless control over weights, widths, and optical size.
Alternate Glyphs and Ligatures, adding creativity and individuality to your designs.
Multi-Language Support, covering over 200 languages.
With TBJ Goslap, you can achieve more than just a polished design—you can create a visual identity that commands attention, whether in print, digital, or packaging. This is a slab serif for designers who need a font that’s both functional and full of personality.
To fully enjoy everything this font has to offer, programs like Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Indesign (and others with OpenType support) will help you get the most out of all the glyphs and features.
And if you spot anything unusual or just want to share some feedback, don’t hesitate to let us know! We're always looking to improve and fine tune.
